Every Christmas season, Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church partners with Kansas City Kansas Public Schools (KCKPS USD 500) to support students and families experiencing homelessness under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.
These children and their families may be living in shelters, motels, temporary housing, or “doubled-up” with other families due to hardship. Many face unstable circumstances and need extra support during the holiday season.
Through the generosity of our members and community partners, Oak Ridge adopts these families and provides:

-
Warm clothing
-
Food and essential household items
-
Christmas gifts for children
-
Additional support for families in crisis

This outreach has become a cherished Oak Ridge tradition—a chance for us to embody Christ’s love, lift up vulnerable families, and truly make a difference in our community.
Together, we continue to live out “Rooted in Love, Growing in Faith.”
